Bush Hospital Foundation - Jersey to Monte Carlo - Day 2

Hi again everyone,

Day 2 and there’s good news and bad news – we’ve gained a few places – but the points deficit has increased to 45 points – but DON’T PANIC – still two days worth of clues to go – and in our ‘early’ days, we were always told not to peak to early!!!

We’ve covered some fantastic roads today – Tommi Makkinen eat your heart out – I bet he never had a navigator with GPS to assist him!

But can you spot the deliberate mistake.....?

Today’s route has seen us leave Blois, stopping for clues at Valensay (where Valerie and Leonard say they are confused)...

....Levroux (‘The’ French runs into a French cook), La Souterraine (a Cowboys rope trick), Bourganeuf (where body odour finishes in nine)...

...Treignac (looks like a railway account), and Uzerche, ending in Brive this evening, in a Hotel Mercure. A total of around 225 miles – and two tanks of fuel nearly (well, those Autoroute’s make you go so fast you can practically see the fuel guage dropping!)

No mad dogs today, just the odd Frenchman playing chicken on the fastest twistiest mountain roads you could ever ask for!

You’ll be relieved to hear there was no shortage of coffee breaks today...

– and we even managed to arrive at the hotel an hour before dinner – and we weren’t even last for a change! (due to only the occasional wrong turn, and a nice blat down the autoroute in chase of a Subaru Imprezza Turbo)

So thats another selection of today’s photo’s for your pleasure (have you ANY idea how long it takes to send these things over a 9.6k GSM connection? (If only we’d brought the French modem adaptor!)

Until tomorrow…… wish us luck!

Garry and Mike
