Day 11 – Qualifying

Saturday saw us up for breakfast at 7.30am and we headed off to Silverstone for our second day at the track.

The traffic was starting to get a little heavier today, and we had a few slow moving traffic jams to contend with, but nothing too major, and we arrived at the track just after 9.15am Practice had started.

We spent a hot relaxing day enjoying the various races; some F1, F3000, and Maserati races… I also saw another car I would like – one that has overtaken the Skoda’s in my wanted list….

In the afternoon, we watched some Porsche races….

By soon after lunch, we realised that the Factor 30 sun cream had evidently given up working for a living, as we found ourselves turning a bright shade of red, so we donned the only things we had with sleeves – which happened to be black waterproof jackets – not too hot then!

Unfortunately, Mike had nothing to cover his knees up with…..

In the evening, we went on a 100 mile round trip to meet a friend in Leicester for dinner, as you do, before returning to our Guest House for a well earned night’s sleep, ready to be up at the crack of dawn the following morning!
